# Large White Benchmark Hits 113 Cents, Up 30.7% on the Week

The national large white conventional benchmark reached **113 cents a dozen** this week, up 30.7% from 86.6 cents the prior week, per USDA. US shell egg inventory stood at 1,384 thousand cases as of July 27, 2.9% below the trailing four-week average.

- **Cage-free large white loose** reached 139 cents a dozen, up 50.3% week over week from 92.7 cents (USDA national). The cage-free premium over conventional is now 26.2 cents a dozen (23%).
- **Medium white cage-free loose** fell to 35.0 cents a dozen, down 41.7% week over week from 60.0 cents, the largest single-week drop in the data.
- **Medium white conventional loose** fell to 18.3 cents a dozen, down 26.6% week over week from 24.9 cents. Both medium-white forms moved opposite to large whites on the week.
- **Northwest conventional shell egg inventory** stands at 53.2 thousand cases, 25% below the five-year median, the furthest below normal of any tracked region (USDA).
- **South Central conventional shell egg inventory** drew to 202 thousand cases, down 16% on the week and 21% below the five-year median (USDA).
- **New York large white, delivered store door**, reached 145 cents a dozen, up 15.1% from 126 cents a week ago.

USDA APHIS confirmed highly pathogenic avian influenza in a 1.2 million-hen layer flock in Utah on July 6. No further egg-sector detections have been reported since.
